Tommy Karagiannakis, the founder of Kara-K9, is a balanced dog trainer with more than half a decade of experience in the field. His passion for dog training first emerged while he was a college baseball player at Guilford Technical College. Instead of concentrating on his baseball career, Tommy found joy in the training process of his beloved dog. This sparked his interest in dog training, and he started cold calling local dog training companies in and around Greensboro, NC. He got his start in dog training when one of the local companies gave him a chance, which led to working for four other companies. Each new opportunity helped him learn and grow his knowledge of balanced dog training techniques, and he eventually found himself ready to start his own enterprise: Kara-K9. Tommy’s approach to dog training combines both classical and operant conditioning methods, which allows him to effectively train dogs of all ages and breeds. He is dedicated to developing personalized training plans that meet the specific needs of each dog and their respective owners.
